Curriculum Vitae
  • Prof. Christoph Siepe finished his studies and his final medical exam at the Free University of Berlin in 1999 and received his full medical approbation in 2001. He started his surgical training in the fields of abdominal, vascular and trauma surgery. Prof. Siepe specialized in the field of spine surgery from an early stage when he started his training with his mentor, Prof. Michael Mayer in 2003 at the Schön Clinic Munich-Harlaching. He completed his orthopedics specialists exam in 2008 and his PhD program in 2010 at the Paracelsus University Salzburg in the field of minimally invasive and motion preserving techniques. He was promoted to Junior Consultant (2006) of the spine department, Consultant (2008), Head Consultant (2009) and Chief Staff Surgeon (2011), and was promoted to Head of the Department of Spine Surgery at the Schoen Clinic Munich-Harlaching in 2012. Prof. Siepe is an elected member of the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine (ISSLS), AO Spine, DWG and EUROSPINE member and is a member of the EUROSPINE Executive Committee since 2013. Prof. Siepe is an elected member of the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (JBJS, since 2015) as well as Assistant Editor of the European Spine Journal since 2014. Since 2021, Prof. Siepe is the Secretary General of EUROSPINE, the Spine Society of Europe.
